Roger Taylor is famous for being the drummer for Queen, the iconic British rock band. The rock legend also pursues a successful solo career outside of the band. He is notable for his powerful drumming style and ability to write catchy and memorable songs, such as “Radio Ga Ga” and “A Kind of Magic.” His solo tours feature a mix of his best material and Queen classics. About Roger Taylor
Roger Taylor is a British musician, best known as the drummer and occasional vocalist of the legendary rock band Queen. Taylor, alongside Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and John Deacon, formed Queen in 1970. He played a crucial role in shaping the band’s distinctive sound, contributing to many of their hit songs with his powerful drumming and backing vocals.
Some of Queen’s songs featuring Taylor’s vocals include “I’m in Love with My Car,” “Radio Ga Ga,” and “A Kind of Magic.” He also wrote several of the band’s tracks, including “Sheer Heart Attack” and “Fight from the Inside.”
The “Outsider” Tour
Outside of Queen, Taylor has released solo material, including albums like “Fun in Space” (1981) and “Happiness?” (1994). Both are critically acclaimed albums. Moreover, he’s had various side projects and collaborations throughout his career.
His latest and sixth solo album, “Outsider“, came out on October 1, 2021. Moreover, the appearance at De La Warr Pavilion was to promote the album as part of the Outsider Tour.
In recent years, Taylor has focused on his work with Queen, including the band’s latest tour, “The Rhapsody Tour,” which began in 2019 featuring Adam Lambert on lead vocals. Moreover, he occasionally performs solo shows and continues to pursue his solo career alongside his work with Queen.
